On October 11, 2022, Rector Prof. in  Elisabeth Gutjahr was appointed by the Ambassador of the Republic of France, Gilles Pécout, to the rank of Officer of the Order "Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" for her commitment to the fields of culture and science .
The French Order of Arts and Letters honors persons who have distinguished themselves with special commitment in the artistic or literary field or by their contribution to the diffusion of the arts and literature in France and in the world. The Order consists of three degrees: Knight, Officer and Commander. Prominent representatives* of this award are: Helga Rabl-Stadler, Markus Hinterhäuser and Thaddaeus Ropac. It is the highest award in France in the field of art and culture. The Ministerial Order of Arts and Letters was established on May 2, 1957. It is under the authority of the Minister responsible for Culture, who decides sovereignly on the appointments.
