On this evening we want to take a look at the current events in Iran: documents and texts by artists and activists, cinematic and musical contributions as well as different statements give an impression of the current situation. We want to commemorate the victims of the protests, call for long-term solidarity with the protesters and offer an opportunity for exchange.

In response to the violent death of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Jîna Mahsa Amini following her arrest by Iran's so-called morality police, students began striking at Iranian universities in early October. In the meantime, the protests have spread to almost all Iranian universities and have resulted in arrests, torture and killings of demonstrators by regime forces and long suspensions. More and more protesters are paying with their own lives for the courage to resist. The leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran is responding with massive use of force.

Several hundred people have been arrested or killed so far, and more and more cases of young people and children being killed are becoming public; striking schoolgirls have been arrested in the streets, and many have been raped and murdered.

The event will be recorded by FS1 - Freies Fernsehen Salzburg.
