Kintsugi - The Golden Break-off: Exhibition by Viveka Biondic
Kintsugi is a technique that gives broken ceramic objects a new chance The blemishes are repaired with gold, giving the objects a new, unique look and a higher value. Viveka Biondic takes this technique as inspiration for her artworks, through which she depicts in an abstract way how the Kintsugi philosophy can enter and change everyday life.

The artist takes the plate as a comparison to the human soul and the fractures and cracks as our experiences. We are just as fragile and delicate as a ceramic object. Therefore, we can use this ceramic repair technique in our life to improve ourselves and gild our cracks; increase our values to shine uniquely with "golden shine". How to use the gold compound to highlight our flaws. With the "Golden Break-off" live performance, the art of letting go is enforced and the past emotions and experiences are gilded at the end.
Viveka Biondic studies English and Visual Education at the Mozarteum University, in the graphic class under the direction of Beate Terfloth, Bernhard Lochmann, Erik Hable and Sigrid Langrehr.
