Chris Wang was born in St. Pölten (Austria) and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Music and Arts University of the City Vienna and Anton Bruckner University Linz, in the fields of dance performance and dance pedagogy respectively. As a dancer, Chris worked with nationally and internationally renowned artists and choreographers (e.g. Jérôme Bel, Natalia Horecna, Helge Letnonja, Nikolaus Adler, among others) both as a freelancer and at the Opera House Graz. As a dance educator Chris Wang has worked, taught and assisted social dance projects since 2009.  He sees his work in and through dance as an overlapping field between the arts, pedagogy and science. Since 2019, Chris studies MAS Dance Science at University Bern and is currently PhD candidate at the University of Music and Performing arts Vienna. He is a founding Member of Arts for Health Austria and co-organized the first dance and health forum in Austria. The Mozarteum University Salzburg appointed him as Senior Lecturer where he teaches Dance at the Department for Elemental Music and Dance Pedagogy, Carl Orff Institute, since March 2021.
