Volker Wahl

Volker Wahl studied theater studies and German language and literature in Vienna, after which he worked as an assistant director at the Volksoper Wien and trained as an actor in Vienna and Los Angeles. 1996-2012 he was a permanent ensemble member at the Schauspielhaus Salzburg, since 2012 he has been a freelance actor and director and has worked at the Salzburg Festival, the Rome Opera House, La Scala Milan, the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen, Bühne Baden or the Lehárfestival Bad Ischl, among others. He has worked with Peter Stein, Alvis Hermanis, Simon Stone, Christine Mielitz, Riccardo Muti, Ingo Metzmacher and Franz Welser-Möst, among others. Since 2018 he has been teaching music drama, performance training, acting and improvisation at the Mozarteum University.
