Born in Linz in 1989, Johanna Dumfart came in contact with music at an early age. She graduated from the Linz Music School and studied singing at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. She is currently receiving classical vocal training from Robert Kreutzer in Klagenfurt. In 2012 she completed her studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in the subjects of the Styrian harmonica, chopping board and singing. 
Between 2009 and 2016 she taught at the Upper Austrian State School of Music in the subjects Styrian harmonica, dulcimer and breathing technique. From 2011 to 2018 she also studied voice training at the Music High School in Linz. She has been a freelance artist since 2014 and has worked as a fellow-senses consultant in numerous elementary schools. She is regularly invited to give speaches at various folk music seminars. She also regularly performs with the Tschejefem, the Dumfart Trio or the Mühlviertler Quintett. Since 2018 she has been a professor of Styrian harmonica at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck and a teacher at the Mozarteum University Innsbruck for diatonic harmonica.
