Michael Geistlinger was born in 1956 in Radstadt in the province of Salzburg.  He is professor of international law, comparative law in the sphere of constitutional and administrative law, as well as Eastern European law at the University of Salzburg.  The  main themes of his publications:  theory and practice of international law, European integration, international and European environmental law, Russian and Eastern European constitutional law in comparison; expert missions to Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Transnistria; arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport; member of the CAS ad  hoc division for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver 2010 and of the Anti-Doping Division for the Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro 2016; visiting professor at the Charles University in Prague; foreign member of the evaluation commission of the University of Rome IV.
