Lisa Fornhammar studied singing at the Mozarteum University Salzburg as well as at the Opera Studio in Stockholm with Martha Sharp and Hartmut Höll. Her repertoire includes parts from many eras and genres. She sang in numerous world premieres. Guest appearances have taken her to the Norske Oper Oslo, the National Theater Reykjavik, the Munich Prinzregententheater, the Wiener Schauspielhaus, the Time of Music Festival in Finland and the city theaters Aachen, Bern, St. Gallen, Bielefeld and the Leipzig Opera. She is the initiator of the annual Lucia concerts in collaboration with the Swedish consulate and Gewandhaus Leipzig. She has held master classes and lectrues at the Berlin University of the Arts, the Bari Conservatory and the University of the Arts Helsinki. Since 2007 she has been teaching performance practice and new music at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and since 2016 she has also been teaching at HMT Leipzig in new vocal music. In addition, she leads a research project on experimental vocal techniques in collaboration with Heidi Westerlund, Michael Fuchs and Johan Sundberg.
