Lecturer in Horn

Marco Treyer was born in Pinswang in Ausserfern. He received his first horn lessons from Paul Kaiser and music school director Franz Walcher. He attended the music high school and conservatory in Innsbruck, studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Hansjörg Angerer and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Roland Berger, where he completed his concert studies in 2001 with honors.  

Marco Treyer was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra at the age of 16. During his studies he substituted in numerous professional orchestras, including the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Graz Philharmonic Orchestra. Tours have taken him to the United States, Brazil and Japan. From 2000 to 2001 he was 1st/3rd hornist in the orchestra academy of the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna. He regularly plays the solo horn with Recreation Graz and the United Stages Vienna.

Since 2001 he has been leading the horn class of the Tyrolean State Conservatory and since 2006 he has been a lecturer at the Mozarteum University Salzburg at the Department of Music Education in Innsbruck.
