University Professor in Piano and Piano Didactics

Thomas Boeckheler was born in Alpirsbach, Germany, in 1958. His teachers were Robert-Alexander Bohnke, Wladimir von Horbowski and Gerhard Oppitz. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich and finished his studies with the Diploma and the Master Class Diploma.


Recitals in Germany and other countries followed, as well as recordings. He taught master classes in Germany, Spain, Japan and China and he is member of the jury in international competitions.


In 1986 he began to teach piano in the Richard-Strauss-Conservatory in Munich. Also he was in charge of the didactic classes for piano and has been the head of the piano department until the integration of the institute into the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich.


Since 2007 he is teaching as a professor at the University Mozarteum Salzburg.
