Albert Weinguny was born in Klagenfurt in 1957 and studied acting at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Acting engagements took him to the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Städtische Bühnen Osnabrück, the Staatstheater Darmstadt and the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. He also made guest appearances at the Schauspielhaus Graz, at the Braunschweig State Theater, at the Lucerne Theater and at the Salzburg Festival. His most important roles include the Prince of Homburg, Don Karlos, Orest, Trigorin and Albin/Zaza in the musical La cage aux folles. In 1980 he received the actor award at the 10th North German Theater Meeting. In 1992 he returned to the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he teaches speech training. He also workes as a speech coach for various Salzburg dance theater productions and also occasionally as an actor for theater and film, e.g. in Ich gelobe and Silentium by Wolfgang Murenberger. Most recently, he played as a guest at the Augsburg Theater and the Mainfrankentheater in Würzburg. He has been a certified teacher for Kristin Linklater voice training since 2012.
