Astrid Weger is working as a dance and art teacher as well as a sports scientist. She did PhD in 1988 on the subject of dance movement in art. In 1992, she graduated from the Laban Center in London and received a scholarship from the Austrian Academy of Sciences to create the dance curriculum at school. As a result, she was involved in the development of the focus on dance at the Musisches Gymnasium Salzburg with a practical, oral and written A-levels in contemporary dance. She teaches dance pedagogy (for Dance and Child International, Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung, EuroLab, tanzkunst-in-die-schule in Berlin, Ulm, Munich) and is a lecturer at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and the Paris Lodron University Salzburg for dance composition and musical Dance.
