Alessandro Misciasci was born in Catania, Italy, and studied piano at the Conservatory „A. Steffani“ in Castelfranco Veneto. In 1985, during the International Summer Academy in Salzburg, he met Prof. Paul Schilhawsky who invited him (1986) to join the faculty of the Universität Mozarteum as a Lied accompanist.  Mr. Misciasci has been a member of the coaching staff at the Mozarteum since that time.


In 1986, he won the third prize at the first International Competition for Lied Accompaniment in Den Haag. He has accompanied numerous master classes with renowned opera singers including Josef Greindl and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, and his work as an accompanist has taken him throughout Europe and Asia. Mr. Misciasci has served as musical assistant for several productions in the Salzburger Festspiele, including  a.o. La clemenza di Tito with Nikolaus Harnoncourt (2003), Die Zauberflöte (2005), Otello (2008), Macbeth (2011) and Aida (2017) with Riccardo Muti, Falstaff (2013) with Zubin Mehta, Il Trovatore (2014/15) with Daniele Gatti and Gianandrea Noseda, Tosca (2018) with Christian Thielemann.
