Gereon Kleiner studied piano and chamber music in Stuttgart, Vienna and Salzburg with Liselotte Gierth, Hans Kann, Roland Keller and Erika Frieser. He also attended courses given by Jürgen Uhde, Andrzei Jasinski and Bernard Ringeissen. He has been a prizewinner in competitions across Europe and was awarded scholarships by the German Music Council, the German Academic Exchange Service and the Alban Berg Foundation in Vienna. He has worked as a pianist for the John Cranko Piano School Stuttgart and thought the piano at the Vienna Conservatory. He has been professor of piano at the University Mozarteum Salzburg since 2004. He has given concerts as a solist, chamber musician and accompanist, working with various ensembles and orchestras, including the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg, oenm, Aspekte New Music Ensemble, Camerata Salzburg and the Vienna Philharmonic. He has performed across Europe and Japan and can be heard on numerous DD, radio and TV recordings.
