Maximilian Bauer studied at the conservatories in Graz, at the University Mozarteum Salzburg (department Innsbruck) and at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium clarinet (teaching qualification and honors diploma in Graz) and voice (teaching qualification at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium). From 1985 to 2006 he was clarinetist at the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck. Alongside his orchestra and teaching career he was playing as a soloist and chamber musician together with the Tiroler Kammerphilharmonie, the Innsbrucker Kammermusikvereinigung, the Innsbrucker Serenadenensemble, the Innsbrucker Bläsertrio, the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck and the Thai National Orchestra in Bangkok. Since 20 years he has been Choirmaster at the commune Birgitz and chairman of the association Verein der Musik- und Kulturfreunde Birgitz. From 1985 to 1992 he was a teacher at the music school in Innsbruck (clarinet and elementary theory of music). Since 1991 he has been working as a lecturer at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium (clarinet and clarinet didactics) and since 2001 he has been working as a lecturer at the University Mozarteum at the department of music education in Innsbruck. 2006 he habilitated at the University Mozarteum Salzburg in the artistic main-subject clarinet. He is cooperative appointee of the cooperation between the University Mozarteum and the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium in the course of the studies instrumental and voice pedagogy.
