Arts | Gender | Research

(Opens in new tab)

The study supplement aims at an in-depth examination of the topics of gender / gender relations at the intersections of art and science. "Masculinity" and "femininity" are understood as attributions that - depending on the cultural context - are subject to historical change. By implementing gender-specific teaching in the curricula, universities meet the university objective (§ 1 UG) of working towards a humane and gender-equitable society.

The arts: practice and mediation

(Opens in new tab)

Artistic production as well as art mediating processes and activities never happen on their own, but are a priori embedded in a social context determined by political, religious and cultural factors. This context has to be understood and analyzed hermeneutically, empirically and artistically in its historical development and in its present constitution. Past and present inter- and transdisciplinary constellations are the subject of the supplementary course "The Arts: Practice and Mediation".
