Joachim Brügge (*1958 in Kiel) studied music theory at the University of Music in Lübeck, historical musicology, systematic musicology / ethnomusicology and ethnology in Göttingen and has been working at the Mozarteum University since 1994, habilitated since 2002. His main areas of research and teaching are, among others, instrumental music of the 19th & early 20th century, popular music & American music theater, reception research in connection with analytical-hermeneutical questions and scientific-theoretical questions concerning the discourse on musicological methods.
