Thomas Böckheler (*1958 in Alpirsbach) studied with Robert-Alexander Bohnke, Wladimir von Horbowski and Gerhard Oppitz. He passed the Artistic Diploma Examination at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. He held master classes in Germany, Spain, Japan and China and was a jury member at various international competitions. Since 1986 he has been a lecturer for piano, head of the methodical seminars and 1998-2008 also head of the piano department at the Richard-Strauss-Conservatory Munich (now University of Music and Performing Arts Munich). Since 2007 he has been a university professor at the Mozarteum University.
