Drama, Direction and Applied Theatre - Thomas Bernhard Institute
The course is structured in such a way as to train actors and actresses as well as stage directors to be in complete command of their talents and exploit them fully in order to meet the varied requirements of local professional theatres and the free drama scene. Students learn the importance of being flexible and reacting independently to various working contexts and aesthetic concepts. Every effort is made to encourage the individual personalities and disposition of the students. Texts are analysed with constant regard to the fundamental elements of acting and playing: the space, the body and movement. Interdisciplinary approaches as well as film, radio and television thereby play an important role. Intensive analysis of questions of our time in enthusiastic dialogue forms the core of interaction between students and lecturers.
