Michael Dorfer completed his apprenticeship as a machine production technician in 2004 and as a draftsman in 2006. From 2006 to 2009 he worked at the Böhler Uddeholm company as a technical draftsman while completing the qualification course for the FH OOE in Steyr. Michael Dorfer successfully completed his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in development at the FH Wels in 2013 and then worked as a development engineer for two years. From 2015 to 2018 he studied Space & Design Strategies at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design Linz. He also worked as a research assistant in the metal workshop from 2017 until his graduation in 2018. Michael Dorfer has been a research assistant for 3D animation, technical visualization and design at Knorr Bremse GmbH Division IFE since 2017. In 2018 he began his master's degree in industrial design at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz. He participated in a wide variety of projects in the following exhibitions and festivals: Co-Creation No Curation (2015, Raumschiff Linz), Not Welcome (2016, OK Linz), Ars Electronica Festival (2016, Postgarage Linz), Festival of the Regions (2017, Marchtrenk ), Escape (2018, Lentos Linz). Michael Dorfer lives in Seitenstetten.
