Oliver Beihammer was born in 1967 in St. Johann in Tirol. He attended the technical school for gold and silversmiths in Steyr and graduated from high school in Innsbruck after working as a goldsmith. From 1996 he studied art education (sculpture) and craft education at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Since 2003 he has been taking part in competitions for designing sacred spaces. In 2004 the newly designed chancel in the Gothic church in Pichlwang (Upper Austria) was inaugurated as well as in 2008 a wall cross in Pichlwang. Since 2007 he has been working with various printing techniques. He is a member of Xylon Österreich, an international association for letterpress and woodcut. Since 2019 he has been teaching sculpture at the Department of Art Education at the Mozarteum Innsbruck.
