Gertrud Fischbacher was born in Kuchl in 1967 and studied art education and textile design at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. She founded and ran a workshop for art screen printing in Salzburg until the year 2000. From 1997 to 2004 she lived in Berlin and participated in the Goldrausch artist project. In 2004 she moved to Cologne, where she worked as an on-air graphic designer at n-tv and RTL and as a producer at APTN until 2011. Since 2008 she has been a lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts and Design at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Gertrud Fischbacher is a visual artist in the medium of artistic photography and video. She deals with the questioning of photographic possibilities with regard to a nature image that is relevant today.
