Christina Leitner was born in Linz in 1976 and studied textile design, psychology, philosophy and pedagogy in Salzburg. In 2000 she received a scholarship from the Federal Ministry, which allowed her to spend time in Finland and Switzerland for research on paper textiles. In 2002 she also received a work scholarship in the field of textiles, art and design at the University of Art in Linz, where she later also worked as a university assistant. Since 2000 she has been giving workshops, training programs and lectures in Germany and abroad and taking part in various international conferences and congresses. She completed the training course in museology at the museum academy of the Joanneum Graz. Since 2006 she has been teaching textile design with the Department of Weaving at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. In addition, she has been the scientific and artistic director of the Haslach Textile Center since 2012. In 2011 she was involved in the development and conception of the Shuttle university course in cooperation with the Linz Art University.
