Rudolf Berger was born in 1968 and attended the Holzfachschule for carpentry and interior design in Hallstatt. After leaving school and completing the master carpenter examination, he attended the advanced course in furniture design in Pöchlarn. After that he began studying interior design at the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences and architecture with a focus on wood construction and interior design at the University of Design Linz. In 1998 he spent a semester abroad at the Università IUAV di Venezia, where he focused on urban development and revitalization. From 1996 he worked in architectural offices for design work, execution planning and project execution as well as for competition work and presentations. In 2004 he founded his own architecture firm "Architektur & Gestaltung", focusing on complete solutions for commercial and private properties. He taught at the furnishing consultant school in Kuchl, at the college for design in St. Pölten, at the UFG Linz, at the school for design and graphics in Pöchlarn and at the FH Rosenheim. Since 2003 he has been Lecturer in specialist practice with wood at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and has also been teaching at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg since 2004.
