Ingeborg Mayr-Edelmayer was born in Steyr in 1962 and studied textile design with Roland Franz and art education with Ruedi Arnold at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. After graduating, she completed a probationary year at the Musisches Gymnasium Salzburg and was involved in setting up the BG Zaunergasse Salzburg, where she still teaches. From 1988 to 2011 she was head of the working group for textiles at the AHS in Salzburg (teacher training). She has been teaching at the University of Mozarteum Salzburg since 1991 and gives didactic and practical school seminars as well as practical school exercises and textile practice (dyeing techniques, etc.).
