University Professor in Early Music and Baroque Violin

Born in Tokyo, Hiro Kurosaki grew up in Vienna, where he studied architecture and the violin;
Prizewinner in international competitions (Henryk Wieniawski, Fritz Kreisler); career as soloist with major European orchestras.
Special interest in historical performance practice: concert master and soloist with the LONDON BAROQUE, CLEMENCIC CONSORT, CAPPELIA COLONIENSIS and LES ARTS FLORISSANTS – concerts at major festivals and in the principal concert halls of the world.
Close collaboration with René Clemencic, Emma Kirkby, Sigiswald Kuijken, Bruno Weil and William Christie; with the latter recorded a highly praised CD of violin sonatas by Handel.
A large number of recordings: recording of the complete Mozart sonatas with Linda Nicholson (fortepiano) - Japan Academy Award; Beethoven complete violin sonatas (with Linda Nicholson); string quartets by Arriaga with La Ritirata - in each case world premier recordings.
