Irma Kliauzaite was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. She attended M.K. Ciurlionis Art School in Vilnius. In 1990 she began studying the piano at the Lithuanian Music Academy in Vilnius. She has been studying at the Mozarteum University Salzburg since 1993. She has participated in numerous master classes. In 1998 she completed her diploma in piano concert with Peter Lang and in 2002 her diploma in piano chamber music with Alexei Lubimov with distinction and received the Austrian Appreciation Award from the Federal Ministry of Science and Transport. She has won various international music competitions such as the 1st prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg (1999). She was also awarded the Bösendorfer Prize and the Bernhard Paumgartner Medal. As a soloist she has played with the Lithuanian Chamber and Symphony Orchestra, the European C.H.A.I.N.-Orchestra, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the Salzburg Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra under George Alexandre Albrecht, Dennis Russell Davis, Yoon Kuk Lee, Saulius Sondeckis and Hubert Soudant. She has participated in various music festivals, such as the European Music Summer in Berlin, the Pianoforte Festival in Meissen, the Easter Festival Hall and the festival for contemporary music "Gaida" in Vilnius. Concert tours have taken her to Japan, Germany, Lithuania, Italy, Russia and France. Since 1998 she has been working as a repetiteuse clerk at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.
