Stefan Bachmann was born 1966 in Heidelberg, Germany. He studied architecture at the TU Darmstadt and at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture (USA). After his studies he has worked for gmp-Architects in Hamburg and Berlin (a.o. Berlin Hauptbahnhof, various competitions). Since 2000 he lives and works in Salzburg. His artistic practise focuses on drawing in an extended range. His work has been shown in Austria and abroad and has received various awards. Since 2000 he teaches drawing at the University Mozarteum Salzburg at the Department for Stage and Costume Design, Film Architecture and Exhibition Design: Life Drawing, Drawing, Architecture Drawing (field trip) and Desktop Publishing. Various field trips focusing on drawing took him with his students to France, the Czech Republic, Italy and Slovenia (a.o.). He also teaches drawing at various private art academies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Stefan Bachmann is also a musician. He plays bassclarinet, clarinet, chalumeau and soprano saxophone. His current work focuses in cross-platform music and improvisation, also in extension with live electronics. High&Low´s debut album “Narrow Road” (Acoustic Pop) has been released on Timezone Records, 2012.
