The course serves to intensify the artistic knowledge and skills acquired in the regular studies and to perfect musical and technical instrumental skills. Performances in university concerts and at events in Salzburg and elsewhere are an integral part of the course.

The university course is intended for graduates of a relevant artistic course (master degree or diploma course) from a post-secondary educational institution in Austria or abroad.

In order to be eligible it is necessary for the student to have graduated in one of the central artistic subjects and to pass the enrolment examination.  Diplomas or degrees issued in foreign languages are to be presented in certified translations. For the enrolment examination, which has to be taken before an examination senate, a programme has to be presented containing pieces from various stylistic epochs and lasting about 15 minutes.

The course lasts 2 semesters.

If the course director of the central artistic subject and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor agree, it is possible to repeat the course once.

The final examination consists of positively concluding the teaching units in the central artistic subject.

Course fees amount to EURO 500 per semester.
