Besides the Vice-Chancellor's Committee and the University Council, the Senate is one of the three leading collegial institutions of the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg. The election of the 18 members of the Senate takes place in the relevant commission and thus consists of nine representatives of the professors, four representatives of the non-professorial teaching staff, as well as a representative of the university employees. In addition there are four students who are delegated to the Senate from the Austrian Students' Union.
